reunion
Yesterday was the family reunion and luckily both Aunt Dib and Davo made it. Davo had to leave an hour or so after he got there because he needed an IV drip. He made it back 3 hours later in time to take the family picture, eat 2 hot dogs, and go to the jump off tho. It was nice seeing everybody. Mostly we just wanted to hang out. Davo showed us his med port (which is infected now and why he is still in the hospital today until they fix it) and showed us his IV. The med port is a bump on his chest. He said they inject the chemo in there because it's a resevoir leading to a tube that goes to his heart. And the leave the IV hook-up in because they need to use it so often. Aunt Dib looked great. She cut her hair shorter so it wouldn't seem like she was losing much from chemo. She starts that on Wednesday. So we all had a really good time and most of us got sun burns too. :-)
I'm really tired from work. Whenever I'm not at Subway, I'm at the hospital and I'm really not getting enough sleep. I'm only working at Subway two or so days a week because we have so many frickin people working now! The sheet is filled up and we have 2 other people training. She's gonna have to add lines on the back for them. It's ridiculous and I'm only getting little paychecks of $60 or so if I'm lucky. Mom and TC have pretty much convinced me to quit when school starts. They both think it would be the best thing for me to concentrate. I'm probably gonna stay after nearly every day for pre-calc. I also would like to do the yearbook and I promised Mike I would run the newspaper if he could manage to find an advisor. I still don't even know about my schedule. They haven't told me anything. I don't know if I'm doubling up or what. I was supposed to know in May.
Dad wants me to cancel my reservation for Cedar Crest's open house on August 15th. The family picnic for gramma's side is that day and I also got an invitation for Aunt D's birthday party. So I guess that's ok since that's the only school I actually have a contact at; I could just call her and ask any questions I have. The other two schools, University of Vermont and Russell Sage, are looking better to me tho. I visit UVM on the 20th, but we're going on the 19th and staying overnight. Russell Sage is on September 3rd. TC wants me to go to Russell Sage because it's the closest and it's all female. LOL. I'm excited to go visit. Can't wait.
