10:15 a.m. - 2005-08-18 Tom and I have been talking about moving out. We're thinking our best option is to move in with his brother. They just moved out of their apartment into a house across the street. There's two bedrooms upstairs that we can have, which is all we need. Tom needs to build up his bank account first so we can pay rent. He also needs to be able to pay his other bills and pay back his debt. So at the earliest, we could leave in October. But since we're not sure, our goal is the end of the year. Right now he is in the process of getting his car inspected. In order to do that he needs to replace his windshield because of the very long crack behind his wipers. The money for that is coming out of my account so we can keep what he has in his account. I also offered to pay his debts for him. Right now he owes his father $200 for work on his car and he owes his mom $78 for his last car insurance payment. As of right now, he's not letting me do that tho. We also need to apply for health insurance. Once I leave my parents' house, I'm not covered on theirs anymore. (I'm covered on their insurance until I'm 26, married, or move out. Bryan will be covered too.) It looks like we qualify for medi_caid so we're going to look into that. We'll have to move out first tho. Otherwise, they'll count my parents' income too and we'll never get it. My parents make good money. What people fail to realize is the fact that we don't see any money. It's called debt and bills. My mom makes around $18,000/yr and my dad makes about $65,000/yr. That means shit. Right now they're trying to stay out of the hole with their bank account. My dad is freaking out daily about money. He's selling his truck and the land we own behind the house. He wants to sell the camper and give up going to camp. So do you see how using people's incomes is inaccurate? Yup. So anyway, we both want to move out. It's just a matter of getting the funds together. We'll see how long that takes. I'm hoping we'll be out before the snows come. I hate winter. I should also warn you that moving out means we probably won't have the internet. Therefore I will have to say goodbye to you guys. But don't worry now! We'll see when the time comes. I want to go to school next fall. In order to be able to go to a school fairly close to here I needed to change my major. I've been thinking about it and one of my other choices has always been criminal justice. You can find that major almost anywhere so that opens FLCC and MCC. They are the only community colleges within an hour from us. So I asked them to send me information and we'll see what I decide. Since we'll only have Tom's income and we'll be married with a dependent, I'm hoping we'll get a decent amount of financial aid. I hope everything works out because I really want to do this. We might be going to camp tonight so if that's the case, I won't be home until Sunday evening. I have to motivate my siblings to clean the house because I'm sure as hell sick of it. *sigh*
